Mating Bugs

This strikingly coloured bugs mating under a leaf of a shrub belong to an insect order known as Hemiptera. The main feature of hemipterans is their rather long sucking mouthpart or proboscis used to penetrate tissues such as plant tissue. When not in use, the proboscis is held down their head as seen in the picture.
